History

First Age

Migraine began during a university vacation as a mock hair metal band. Going full throttle with the theme each member adopted a stage name. The band recorded a video, which, despite half the members having never played an instrument before, sounded pretty good. The first age of Migraine consisted of Dom "DeTonica" on vocals, Victor "VD Cutlass Supreme" on guitar, Peter "Mickey Switchblade" on bass and Dimitri "Balki Bizarnik" on keyboards.

Second Coming

A few years later Peter and Victor were jamming together and recorded a few collaborations. Peter found a miniature drumset by the side of the road and they christened the "Drums of Death."  The search was on for someone who could coax rock and roll out of the drums. After some false starts long time friend Ben stepped in and the trio, with Victor on bass and Peter on guitar, began recording in Victor's living room on the finest karaoke machine they could find at the thrift store. Upping the ante, Migraine signed up to play during setup for some local bands at a block party. They had only two weeks to prepare, but they were up to the challenge. The set list consisted of five songs, and once they had exhausted it, they played them one more time each for good measure (except a Yngwie-esque version of Tocatta and Fugue).

After a two year hiatus, the trio got together again, this time properly equipped with a real drum set and real guitar amps and Peter on vocals.  They trained long and hard and threw together an hour long set list of Judas Priest, The Doors, Fleetwood Mac, Virgin Steele, and others, plus a few original jams. They ended the set with Chicago's 25 or 6 to 4, which has been popular ever since.  After over a year of jamming, Victor moved away to San Francisco, and a new bass player was needed.

Third Age

Now Ben and Peter worked together and roped coworker Sheila in as bass player. The atmosphere was at times strained, but the three managed to put together two years of memorable performances. Each member greatly improved their craft. They capped their collaboration in the summer of 2007 with their best live performance and the release of a CD named "My Head Hurts" illustrated with weird brain themed artwork by Peter, Victor, and Peter's sister.  "My Head Hurts" was a compilation of the original material created during the Third Age and it rocked as the gods would have it.
